Maddie Birch started her lacrosse career with T3 Shore Elite in 2015. Now a junior defender at the University of Louisville, majoring in Communications, Maddie is excelling on and off the field. She took home three prestigious collegiate awards from her Sophomore season: the University of Louisville Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player Of The Year, the University of Louisville Iron Cardinal Award for strength, speed and agility, and was named to the All-ACC Academic Women’s Lacrosse Team.
During Maddie’s Sophomore year she started and played in all 18 games. She tied for team-lead and ranked 7th in the ACC with 37 ground balls. Her 2.06 ground balls per game also ranked 7th in the ACC. She led the ACC and ranked 55th in the nation with 1.50 caused turnovers-per game and also ranked 7th all-time at the University of Louisville in a single season. Her 27 caused turnovers tied her for 2nd in the ACC and tied her for 5th all-time in the history of the University of Louisville program.
Maddie is a successful athlete as well as a dedicated student. She finished Sophomore year with a 3.8 GPA and was named to the AD Honor Roll, Dean’s list and was named a Red and Black Scholar as well. In her summers, Maddie coaches for T3 Elite when she returns home to Wall Township, NJ during her break. T3 is so happy for Maddie and all of her success and looks forward to another great season.
